Damage is anything that reduces a character's HP.
Common sources of damage include:
Aggravated status
Some things are supernaturally anathema to a kindred, such as sunlight and fire. When they have gained a foothold through damage their presence makes all other damage worse, every wound is an opening for it to hurt you more deeply. Until you heal fully it stays in you, slowly burning you to ash from inside.
When you have the aggravated status all damage you have is considered to be of the Aggravated type, both damage taken before and after the burn sets in.
The aggravated status persists until all damage has been healed.
Healing
Damage is gradually healed as long as a character is alive and remain fed. The rate of healing depends on the type of damage.
| Damage type | Healing rate |
|---|---|
| Bashing (such as a friendly spar) | 1 / minute |
| Lethal (normal damage) | 1 / hour |
| Aggravated | 1 / day |
