Animalism is the Mental Discipline focused on affecting animals and The Beast. Like interacting with nature, some powers are soft while others are extremely aggressive.

Powers

Level 1: Beckoning

You can call specific animals to you (as long as they exist within reasonable distance) and speak to them.

Having this level enables you to understand animals and makes them more friendly towards you.

Level 2: Quell the Beast

You can help a Kindred near Frenzy to calm down. If the target is willing this simply works, if they are unwilling you must have more Willpower than them for the power to work. In either case you speak to them calmly and convince them that they are in control, that the emotions are passing and that they can better handle whatever they are upset about with a clear mind. This experience leaves them as normal, their Beast is still present but they are once again in control. This is not considered mental manipulation or a use of a blood power, instead it is guidance given by one who understands the beast and how to control it.

Having this level improves your own ability to control the beast.

Level 3: Eye of the Beast

You have integrated The Beast into yourself and are able to benefit from it directly and use it to relieve when you are near a Frenzy. With eye contact and higher Willpower you can force your Beast onto a target, bringing the target into a blind rage. Note that this target could be a mortal, even though they can't normally Frenzy. If you have less Willpower you lose control of your anger and enter a Frenzy.

Having this level gives you an instinctual sense of your surroundings, you can feel if someone nearby is hiding but this ability cannot locate or identify them.

Level 4: Crush the Beast

With eye contact and overwhelming mental force you can push down The Beast of a target, forcing it along with most of their emotions out of their mind for a few minutes. The resulting apathy is both uncomfortable and deeply disconcerting, but perhaps better than a Frenzy. For this to work you must have equal or higher Blood Potency than your target.

Having this level grants you an instinctual sense of strength, you can tell the Blood Potency of a target upon eye contact. Remember that the numbered Blood Potency steps don't exist in-game, there it is a diffuse scale where the only applicable descriptions are lower / about equal / higher.
